Year Founded:

Founded in 1941 as the “Artists Union of LSSR”;

Registered as the society “Artists Union of Latvia” (AUL) in 2005

Aims and Objectives:

• Support, promote and collect information on activities of AUL members;
• Create and maintain a data base of AUL members and their creative biographies;
• Organize annual general and special exhibitions in the different fields of visual art;
• Ensure AUL members receive the most current information concerning professional interests;
• Ensure art works and infrastructure possessed by the AUL is maintained properly and is accessible;
• Defend the rights and professional interests of artists, art critics and scholars.
